Widget Logic is a simple WordPress Plugin that can be used to manage the placement of each of your sidebar widgets. For example it allows users to select whether a certain widget appears on all, one or a selection of pages and posts.

I would thoroughly recommend this for making the sidebar / widget areas of your wordpress site more effective.
